I’m a professional stylist and it’s bad news if you still wear these five items – they look cheap and need chucking out

A PROFESSIONAL stylist has revealed the five things you need to get rid of in your wardrobe immediately.

According to Caitlin Jaymes there are some items that might’ve been trendy once but are making you look cheap and outdated now.

Bright, tassel are a big no-no for the stylisttiktok/@caitlin_jaymes

The stylist and closet organiser explained that the first major fashion faux pas is any sort of distressed skinny jeans.

“Skinny jeans in general I’m usually trying to get rid of,” Caitlin confessed, but ripped and distressed ones are by far the worst.

If you can’t part ways with your ripped skinny jeans quite yet, go for something with more subtle rips instead of anything “overly distressed.”

Ankle boots are also a big no-no according to the fashion whizz, who says they “are always going to cut off your leg and just make you look short and stumpy.”

“It kind of looks like an elf boot to me,” she joked.

As far as accessories go it’s probably time so sift through your jewellery – especially if you’ve got any tassel earrings lurking around.

Caitlin said: “Time to retire these earrings, the stringy material just looks really cheap.

“There are better options out there if you want to add some colour.”

Any sort of block heel with an ankle strap is probably just taking up space in your wardrobe as well, so it’s time to ditch them.

Even though they’re still pretty popular the stylist explained that they are cutting your legs off making you look short and stumpy.

That said, she admitted, “the replacement isn’t necessarily comfortable.”

Last, but by no means least, she revealed that you should wave goodbye to jackets with a built-in hood which make it look like to separate items of clothing.

“Get an umbrella, you don’t need the hood. Trust me,” she said in the clip.

According to the pro, the hood will give any outfit a “juvenile” look, which probably isn’t what you’re going for.

Fellow fashion fans agreed with Catilin’s tips, for the most part at least.

One said: “No one ever listens to me about ankle boots! They only work with long pants, no one can pull them off with a skirt or shorts.”

A second said: “I am not wearing mom jeans! I refuse!!”

“I always thought those earrings looked cheap even when they were on trend,” someone else commented.
