Prince Harry’s memoir Spare was full of salacious revelations, but of course Trevor Noah singled out the ‘frostbitten penis’ anecdote for one of his jokes at the Grammy Awards.

The former Daily Show presenter did the honours of hosting this year’s star-studded music ceremony, which saw the likes of Beyonce, Harry Styles and Taylor Swift in attendance.

It was natural that Trevor, 38, was going to draw from the biggest recent news stories as the springboard for his gags while MCing the evening, and it was inevitable that the release of the Duke of Sussex’s autobiography was top of his list.

Harry, 38, laid bare the details of his life growing up as a senior member of the Royal Family, his strained relationship with brother Prince William, and what led to him quitting as a working member of the family with wife Meghan Markle.

However, Spare also featured some light-hearted – and perhaps unwarranted – tales from Harry’s life, including the time he got frostbite on his penis during a charity walk at the North Pole in 2011.

Introducing James Corden to the stage while sat rat next to Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck, Trevor quipped: ‘James Corden is a 12-time Emmy winner and the host of The Late Late Show.

‘He’s also living proof that a man can move from London to LA and not tell everyone about his frostbitten penis.’

Opening up about his frosty ordeal in one section of Spare, which was released in January, the prince revealed how the frostbite affected his ears, cheeks and ‘todger’ after the charity walk.

He writes: ‘Pa was very interested, and sympathetic about the discomfort of my frost-nipped ears and cheeks.

‘While the ears and cheeks were already healing, the todger wasn’t. It was becoming more of an issue by the day.’

According to Harry, he was even suffering from frostbite at Kate and William’s wedding, watched by millions around the world.
