Lorraine Kelly slates Madonna’s Grammys appearance – after comparing her to a ‘boiled egg’-Meghna Amin-Entertainment – Metro

Lorraine Kelly has taken another brutal swipe at Madonna, saying that she ‘doesn’t really look like herself’ during her Grammys appearance.

It wasn’t too long ago that the ITV host compared the Material Girl singer to a ‘boiled egg’.

And now she’s taken another savage swipe, following Sunday’s 65th Grammy Awards, where Madonna introduced Sam Smith and Kim Petras’ Unholy performance.

Lorraine began: ‘I must admit, when I saw the photo I thought, “That looks like somebody that has maybe had some surgery to look like Madonna and it’s not gone well. What’s going on?!

‘Dear oh dear, it’s got everyone talking.’

The 63-year-old agreed with presenter Ross King that she looks ‘undeniably different’, adding: ‘She just doesn’t look like herself.

‘She can do whatever she likes, she’s Madonna, she can do whatever she wants, she has paid her dues, she can do what she likes, but I just think it’s a little bit disappointing that she feels like she has to.

‘I always thought Madonna was above the rules, she could just do whatever, whatever, whatever.’

Back in October, Lorraine was chatting about Madonna’s TikTok video in which the Vogue hitmaker is seen standing in the middle of her very luxurious bathroom and throwing a pair of hot pink knickers – to match her hot pink hair, of course – into a nearby bin.

‘Is that actually Madonna?’ Lorraine said at the time.

‘I don’t recognise her honestly, what’s she done to herself? She was so beautiful.

‘Why why why do women do this to themselves? She looks like a boiled egg. She doesn’t look like she’s got any features at all.

‘I’m cross because I really like her. I really do.’

Lorraine’s comments come after Piers Morgan was heavily criticised for mocking Madonna’s Grammys look.

Alongside a photo of 64-year-old Madonna, Piers, 57, wrote: ‘I thought Halloween was in October?’

The backlash was swift and many of the controversial pundit’s two million followers rushed to the comment section of his post to make their thoughts known.

‘So awful comments about someone’s appearance are apparently OK if they are started by a “celebrity”? What a spiteful world we live in,’ penned one social media user.
