However, in recent months, many Primark shoppers had noticed that the chain often seemed to be out of stock of the cheap underwear.
But now, Primark fans are “panicking and shaking” as they have noticed that instead of being able to buy a single thong for £1, you are now only able to buy a three pack.
But the main problem with this three pack is that it is a whopping £4.
Fashion fans were devastated about the price rise and one social media user, Holly Morris, who posts on TikTok under the username @holymorridge, took to the video sharing platform to share her thoughts.
She posted a clip with the caption ‘Just had a thought. Weird that Primark thongs and an orange Lucozade are the same price’, which she shared alongside the hashtag #thonggate.
Holly said: “Guys, I’m panicking and shaking.
“I’m just in Primark looking for my thongs – obviously, what else would I be doing at the weekend?
“I’ve looked at a three pack and it’s now £4.
“I can’t f***ing believe it.
“I know there’s a cost-of-living crisis but I’m facing a crisis right now in the thong department.
“It’s caught me off guard.
“Anyway, I’ve got to go because people are looking at me talking and hanging around the thongs.”
Holly’s video has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly gone viral and has racked up a whopping 3.3million views.
It has 412.9k likes, 3,035 comments and 1,337 shares.
Primark fans were appalled at the price rise and many slammed the high-street chain for getting rid of the £1 thongs and increasing the prices.
One person said: “Primark has got soooooo expensive!!!!!”
Another added: “Still can’t believe they got rid of the £1 single ones. They were amazing.”
A third commented: “I went to Primark today and was shocked at how pricey it’s gotten. When did this happen ”
One angry shopper claimed: “The issue is it’s still the same quality but double the price.”
