Salma Hayek has admitted she was stunned at the amount of diet chat during the filming of the latest installment of the Magic Mike films.

For the cast of Magic Mike’s Last Dance, looking that good ain’t easy, and strict dieting was par for the course, according to the cast.

Star Channing Tatum said he hired a ‘vegetable guru’ to keep fit for the film – in a break from stereotype, the pressure to stay in shape was not on the women.

The 42-year-old actor reprises his role as ‘Magic’ Mike Lane in racy stripper saga and hired a pro to keep him looking fit while shooting.

But this surprised co-star Salma, who stepped in to replace Thandiwe Newton as the upcoming stripper flick’s female lead.

‘I’ve never heard so much diet talk in any movie, and I’ve worked with a lot of girls,’ the From Dusk Till Dawn star told Entertainment Tonight.

‘They were either talking the diet or in between takes, they were doing pushups, all of them…for me that’s like the worst, that’s a punishment, and they were like, so excited,’ said the 56-year-old actress.

She added the guys were exercising ‘non-stop’ between takes, but that Channing ‘went crazy’ once filming wrapped.

‘They were just so happy all the time exercising in between takes nonstop. The day they said wrap, he went crazy!

‘We’re going to the wrap party in the cars and he was in the other car shoving the pizza in his mouth. He was so happy,’ she continued.

It wasn’t all fun and pushups though, as the Desperado actress added she nearly had a disaster when the pair were filming a dance sequence when Channing ‘nearly dropped’ her.

‘I remember in one rehearsal he nearly dropped me upside down, head hitting the floor. It came this close, and then he reprimanded me.’

But the Hateful Eight actor teased it was all his co-star’s fault. Salma explained she had to bend her legs but failed to do so in rehearsal, which her co-star agreed with: ‘Yeah, you didn’t bend them, but I saved that queen. The queen’s crown didn’t hit the ground!’

Salma has previously admitted that this was only one moment she found difficult, with her lap dance sequence also being ‘physically challenging’ to film.
