I’m a charity shop whizz and tested out the UK’s only charity department store – the quality was amazing

A CHARITY shop whizz visited the UK’s only charity shop department store and revealed the quality on the rails was “amazing”.

Lottie Ashley is a self-styled charity shop expert and regularly spends her lunch breaks and weekends trawling second hand rails.

One of the shopper’s recent videos was an “honest review” of the UK’s first ever charity shop department store.

CharitySuper.Mkt opened earlier this year and stocks a range of donated clobber – from designer coats and vintage shoes to timeless denim and basics.

Its first launch was in north London shopping mall Brent Cross – with plans to expand across the UK – and thrift fans say it is shopping heaven.

That includes charity Lottie who picked up vintage denim jeans for £8.

Ten charities feature in the store: TRAID, Havens Hospice, Barnado’s, Shelter, Cancer Research, Age UK, Marie Curie, Emmaus, SCT and All Aboard.

Recording herself exploring the department store, she narrated: “Each section is a different charity shop.

“So when you’re walking around, each section has a sign above it saying which charity shop you’re in.

“And on the labels it will say where you’re buying from.

“I did feel that the different charity shops had different vibes and I was a very happy girl.

“Price wise, it was normal charity shop prices.

“It wasn’t London charity shop price, it was affordable charity shop price.

“And the prices were similar to that of what you’d get at a charity shop when you’re shopping on the high street.

“The price made me super happy.

“Everything was really good quality.

“It wasn’t like a vintage store where it was thread barren and £20 for a shirt.”

Among Lottie’s notable finds were Doc Marten boots for £60, a Kenzo t-shirt for £60 and a striped Superdry shirt for £12.

She added: “There were so many unique pieces.

“Like, I’ve never gone to something and been super happy – I always manage to complain.

“But I have no complaints, this place was ten out of ten.”

Lottie concluded that CharitySuper.Mkt is “definitely worth a visit” for fellow vintage lovers.

Included in her £37 shop was her “dream pair of wide leg black jeans” for a cool £8.
