In a very charitable deed, Tyler Perry has donated a hefty sum to help elderly people struggling finanically.

Following the launch of the 53-year-old actor’s successful film studio in Atlanta, pensioners have seen their property taxes jump.

So, in a bid to resolve the problem he had a part in creating, Tyler has chipped in the difference, meaning the senior citizens won’t need to move out of their homes.

Sources say the film mogul is donating $750,000 (£62.5k) this year, given that the value of the land around Tyler Perry Studios has increased and longtime residents on a fixed income are said to have been forced away.

According to TMZ, Tyler recently reached out to Atlanta major Andre Dickens to voice his desire to help.

The outlet adds that his large donation will ‘do a number of good things in the community’, such as paying off all back property taxes for every low-income senior in Atlanta.

This covers almost 300 homes, however, Tyler does sit at number three on Forbes’ list of highest-pair entertainers, having supposedly raked in $175million (£145m) last year alone.

Sources have also said the star’s money will ‘effectively freeze property taxes for 100 low-income seniors for 20 years’, with the money ‘going to pay the difference between current property taxes and property tax increases over the next two decades.’

Of course, this isn’t the first time we’ve heard of Tyler being a good egg.

After featuring in Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Netflix documentary series, it came to light just how important he was when they stepped away from Royal duties.

The couple lived in one of his mansions in California, as he was one of the first stars to support the couple as they faced immense backlash over their decision to quit the UK.

Recalling afterwards how he rushed in to help Harry, 38, and Meghan, 41, the Madea director told NBC’s Today: ‘It was a very difficult time for them and what I know about the two of them, that I wish the world knew, is how much they love.

‘These two people love each other. They found each other. Out of all these odds against them finding each other, they found each other.

‘The love they have is really, really moving and I just wanted to do anything I could to support them.’

Continuing to express his awe over the pair’s relationship, he admitted that he hopes to find a similar love in the future, adding: ‘If I don’t have that, what she and Harry have, I don’t want it – that’s really amazing.’

Everyone, be more Tyler Perry.
