Each potion in Hogwarts Legacy will give your character useful boosts and perks, so here’s how you can brew each one of them.
The ability to brew potions was always going to be a big part of Hogwarts Legacy, as it’s an essential aspect of being a wizard. Just like casting spells and flying with your broom.
There are a few familiar potions which you’d have seen Harry, Ron or Hermione use in the movies, such as the Felix Felicis which makes the drinker lucky for one day.
Others can be very helpful during combat, especially if you need to restore your health or quickly stun and damage a nearby opponent. So, let’s see how you can start your potion-making journey as quickly as possible…
When can you start brewing potions in Hogwarts Legacy?
As soon as you enrol as a student at Hogwarts and start following the game’s main storyline, you’ll be called to attend a potions class with Professor Sharp.
Once you have your first class, you’ll unlock the ability to brew potions by interacting with the potions stations you’ll find there.
Later on in the game, you’ll also be able to brew potions in the Room Of Requirement, once you unlock it.

Obviously, to make any potion you’ll need to collect the necessary ingredients that are part of its recipe.
Some recipes can be found as you progress through the game while others can be purchased from J. Pippin’s Potions shop located in Hogsmeade.
Where can you find ingredients for potions in Hogwarts Legacy?
As Hogwarts Legacy is an open world game, you’ll be able to collect wild herbs and items that can serve as ingredients for some potions.
This means you’ll need to keep your eyes open every time you roam around the Wizarding World and it’s also best to pick these items up instantly (in case you forget to return to that specific spot).
Wandering aimlessly can get a bit dangerous at times, as you don’t know what creatures are lurking and are ready to attack.

There’s an easier way to collect ingredients for your potions, which is simply buying them from J. Pippin’s Potions or The Magic Neep, which is also located in Hogsmeade.
However, if you’re feeling brave and want to take a troll down for a handful of its bogeys, feel free to go ahead.
All potions in Hogwarts Legacy and their perks

Is there a Polyjuice Potion in Hogwarts Legacy?
Polyjuice is arguably the most popular potion in the Harry Potter franchise, with many of the series main characters using it over the years.
Sadly, you can’t brew the Polyjuice Potion whenever you want, although it is part of the game.
You can only brew the shape-shifting potion during a quest called the Polyjuice Plot, that’s part of Hogwarts Legacy’s main storyline.
Apart from this instance, the potion remains locked, although it wouldn’t be surprising if it’s made accessible with future updates or DLC packs.
