Joel Dommett really did deliver thumb-thing special when he prepared a romantic meal.
In an interview with Guilty Pleasures, The Masked Singer favourite relived how he served up – or sever-ed up – a shock for his model missus Hannah.
‘I cut off my thumbnail while chopping chives. It went into the thing of chives, and I couldn’t find the nail,’ Joel, 37, explained. ‘I was like, “OK, it’s in the cooker now and there’s a 50 per cent chance it’s going to be eaten by me, and 50 per cent it’s going to be eaten by her.
‘We ate, and I was watching her the whole time. She got the nail and said, “What’s that?!” I was like, “Oh no, I’m so sorry!”’ Don’t worry Joel, we’re sure Hannah still found your gesture cut(icle).
Meanwhile, the comedian, who hosted the Just Eat Restaurant Awards at The Londoner hotel on Tuesday, hopes to nail his next gig, presenting the BBC’s Survivor reboot.
The series, previously on ITV in 2001, maroons a bunch of strangers on a remote tropical island.

‘I’m glad they’ve trusted me with it. I don’t say this lightly, and I wouldn’t say it ever again, but put it in print, I’m hashtag blessed,’ Joel gushed.
And he will relate to the contestants’ struggles after his stint on I’m A Celebrity in 2016.
‘God, it was hard, it really is the hunger,’ he added. ‘You talk about food for 23 hours a day. You don’t get that hunger out of your system for a good couple of months afterwards.’
Talk about a rumble in the jungle…
