I’m a fashion expert and this is what your flat shoes say about you – it’s bad news if you love Uggs

ALTHOUGH shoes aren’t our first thought when getting dressed, what you wear says a lot about you.

Beit day-to-day, a night out or a special occasion a lot of time and energy goes into finding the perfect outfit.

And for some the footwear becomes an afterthought, or a last minute scramble.

But they can dramatically change your appearance and make or break your look.

Whether you’re a trainer fanatic or if an ankle boot is your safety shoe – your choice reveals all.

Here, Fabulous’s Fashion Editor, Clemmie Fieldsend, reveals what your shoe really says about you.

BALLET PUMPS – ON TREND

Ballerinas are back, and in a big way.

Celebs like Jennifer Lopez, Kendall Jenner and Meghan Markle have all been wearing them, plus influencers have been hitting global fashion weeks in the soft shoe too.

If you’re a pump wearer it means you’re stylish.

Love them or hate them they’re a current trend so if you’re dusting your old ones off or buying new pairs you are in style.

TRAINERS – MUMSEY

INSTAGRAM/MARKS AND SPENCERTrainers are a go-to for every outfit.[/caption]

Trainers have come a long way.

They used to be a sign that you were scruffy or lazy but these days they’re a status symbol, and are acceptable with most outfits from formal suits to midi skirts.

But if your go-to is a trainer you’re likely to be a mum.

Running around after everyone, making meals, shopping, doing drop offs and work means you need to be comfortable and fast on your feet – and that warrants a good trainer.

UGGS – COMMON

Uggs have made their way back to being one of the hottest shoes on the market.

Fashion search analysts, Lyst, reported that at the end of 2022 they had over 1.2 billion mentions on TikTok.

From supermodels like Irina Shayk to influencers like Molly-Mae Hague they are everywhere.

And that’s just the problem, they are now common.

Whether you’re snapping up Primark’s £6 Ugg dupe or splashing cash on the real thing they have become a wardrobe essential for everyone.

ANKLE BOOT – OLD-FASHIONED

Whether you call them a Chukka or a Chelsea or if you love a lace-up, if you’re a flat ankle boot lover your style is dated.

Whilst the classic boot has been a go-to for years they haven’t been a catwalk or celebrity trend in quite some time.

If you can’t bear the thought of not wearing your ankle boots with every outfit you own, adapt the look slightly by wearing Western styles.

They’re pretty much the same but will give your outfits a modern update.

SLIDERS – LAZY

Shuffling around in a slider is like wearing your slippers all day long.

Loved by A-listers for their airport outfits, days at the beach or even when out shopping for their latest looks, sliders have gone from being seen as a Grandad sandal to now high end footwear.

If you’re bold and wear them with thick, fluffy socks or just wear them without, you can have that comfort feeling of being relaxed all day long.

If you’re a slider wearer you’re chilled out, laid back and aren’t in a rush – because if you do rush you might trip over.
