Love Island star Layla Al-Momani shared her struggle with alopecia and expressed how touched she feels when people ‘compliment’ her hair.

The 28-year-old brand managing director was one of the bombshells on this year’s winter series, which is presented by Maya Jama.

After she got pretty close to farmer Will Young, the TV personality’s time in the villa was short-lived after he chose to stick by Jessie Wynter.

Alopecia is a physical health condition that causes her hair to fall out. It is often associated with stress and anxiety. There is no cure, but treatments are available to slow down the loss of hair.

After a fan complimented her brunette locks via Instagram Stories, Layla replied: ‘I’m so gassed by this because whenever people compliment me on my hair it means so much because I have alopecia. I’ll put photos after so you can see what actually happened. ‘

She later uploaded a picture displaying the hair loss she experiences due to the condition.

Wanting to hear her full story, another fan asked: ‘Can you speak more on your hair please? Sincerely a 4C hair girlie going through it too. ‘

Layla enthused: ‘Yes honey. A few people [have] been asking for advice on Alopecia. I’ll help as much as I can from my experience with it but I’m no doctor or professional.

Layla’s (M) time in the villa was brief following Casa Amor (Picture: ITV)

‘I’ll post on it later tonight or tomorrow as this Story is about to expire.’

Before she left the South African villa for good Layla, Cynthia Otseh-Taiwo and Lydia Karakyriacou provided a detailed rundown of the boys’ antics in Casa Amor to Jessie, Claudia Fogarty and Samie Elishi.
