Former Strictly Come Dancing star Will Mellor revealed that he put a tracker on his daughter’s phone after filming his new documentary on police safety.
In his latest eight-part series, titled Cops Who Kill, the Coronation Street actor, 46, explores eight vile cases where police officers have committed murder, including the highly publicised case of Wayne Couzens, who murdered marketing executive Sarah Everar in 2021 as she was making her way home from a friend’s place in central London.
The first installment airs on Monday March 6, the same day Couzens, 50, is due to be sentenced for three counts of indecent exposure.
Mellor, who shares children 18-year-old Jayden and 14-year-old Renee, with his wife Michelle McSween, admitted that he’s taken extra caution with his youngest daughter.
‘It’s so important,’ he said.
‘I said to her, “I’m not spying on you but if anything happens, I know where you are.”

‘I am protective of people but my kids are my world and you just want to protect innocence.’
Mellor revealed that his teenage children have very different emotions towards his fame.
‘Jayden is really laid-back about it all, but Renee gets quite embarrassed!’ he told OK! Magazine.
‘I picked her up from school the other day and there was a group of kids waving at me frantically.

‘She got in the car like, “Drive! Drive! Drive!”. She’s great at spotting when people are secretly filming and taking pictures though.’
The Harvey Gaskell star recently revealed that he lost so much weight on Strictly that his watch didn’t fit him anymore.

Speaking on This Morning, he said: ‘My watch didn’t fit me! I didn’t know I had chunky wrists, but I do! I lost weight everywhere.’
He added: ‘I think it’s probably the hardest thing I’ve ever done, work wise, just because of how consuming it is. You’re in this bubble and once you go into it, you don’t come out of it until you leave the show,’ he explained.
‘The one day off, all you’ll think about is, you’re resting yourself, you’re icing your knees, thinking about starting again tomorrow.’
Cops Who Kill With Will Mellor premieres on Monday March 6 at 10pm on Crime + Investigation.
