I forked out for a posh belt but it arrived with the cheapest label on it – I would have just bought it for £3 instead

A WOMAN was left dumbfounded when she forked out on a posh belt but was sent something far from luxury.

Ashleigh Masterson’s jaw dropped when she opened a ShowPo parcel to find a Shein label on one item.

The mum-of-one was shopping for an outfit to wear to an Ed Sheeran concert.

Ashleigh forked out £20 a gold coin belt to match a little black dress for the occasion.

However, she was concerned to find the belt had a Shein tag.

Curious Ashleigh looked on the Chinese fast fashion retailer’s website to see if she could buy the belt there.

To add insult to injury, it is being flogged for £4.50 – or $6.95 in Australia where the angry customer lives.

The Victoria-based mum took to Tik Tok to share her annoyance after forking out $34.95 on the belt from fashion store ShowPo.

She said: “ShowPo – what the hell?

“That’s not on, not on at all.”

ShowPo is a digital fashion store that stocks brands like Levi’s and Dr Martens, as well as its own pieces.

A blurb on its website reads: “Our styles are made for everyone, for every occasion.

“We want you to embrace your individuality and express yourself in true Showpo fashion.”

Ashleigh’s scathing video prompted the retailer to remove the belt in question from its website.

The company’s founder Jane Lu also left a comment on the Tik Tok which has totted up over 75,000 views.

Lu commented: “Hey Ashleigh and everyone, ShowPo CEO here.

“Omg I am so shocked!

“This has never happened before, we are investigating with our supplier.”

“We’ve checked the rest of the belts and no Shein stock but we are investigating how this could’ve happened.”

However, shoppers were not convinced that the mix-up was innocent.

One penned: “I’ve sworn off ShowPo because the quality is so poor and they jack up the prices.”

A second complained: “I was shopping on their website a few months ago and found a number of items that Shein also sell.

“Pretty crazy price difference!”
