The Apprentice stars Dani Donovan and Victoria Goulbourne shrugged off complaints about their signature fashion choices.

During yesterday’s episode of the BBC series, Victoria, Dani and Megan Hornby were chosen as the latest candidates to be eliminated from the process by Lord Alan Sugar after their business plans failed to impress.

In previous episodes, viewers couldn’t help but critique the contestant’s outfit choices, which included the likes of Victoria and Dani wearing their blazers over their shoulders.

‘Am I just really unfashionable or does the ‘I’m going to just place my jacket on my shoulders instead of wearing it like a normal person’ trend look absolutely ridiculous?’ one person wrote.

Another penned: ‘Why can’t they just put their arms in the sleeves of their jackets? They’re like walking coat hangers’, with someone else saying: ‘These people wearing their jackets as capes on #theapprentice are annoying me’.

While speaking to Metro.co.uk after their elimination, the businesswomen dismissed the fashion criticism and stood by their bold looks.

‘With fashion, if you like something wear it,’ Victoria said.

‘It doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks. I actually find it comfier wearing my blazer like that.’

Addressing the criticism she’s seen since watching the show back, Dani added: ‘I’m really proud of myself because I’ve stayed off Twitter.

‘I try and avoid any negativity because it just brings you down for no reason. I’m not bothered by what they have to say. I always own what I wear, and you can’t be everyone’s taste. I did see a few articles, but it never really fazed me.’

Thursday’s penultimate episode of the year saw the return of the dreaded interviews, which come the week before the finale, and is one of the most-loved by fans.
