I’m a fashion whizz and there are four looks you should avoid this spring – they make you look so cheap and tacky

AS THE weather begins to warm up you might be thinking about tucking away your winter coat and dusting off your spring wardrobe.

But according to fashion fan Anna Reid there are a few items you should avoid if you don’t want to end up looking cheap and tacky.

Posting on her YouTube channel, Anna explained how she looks classy by ditching certain items you probably also own.

“There’s some items out there that would be a waste of money, and they’re things maybe you don’t really see right now but after you see it you might not be able to un-see it,” she explained.

Sheer white tops

If they’re designed to be sheer and that’s your style – go right ahead.

But Anna pointed out that a lot of cheaper white tops and T-shirts appear sheer even though they’re not designed to, which can end up looking really cheap.

She explained: “With a lot of these inexpensive fabrics they’re not that opaque.”

That said, the brightly coloured tops in the exact same style will usually appear less see-through, so if you love the style check to see if there are other colour options.

Badly faded jeans

Faded jeans are a wardrobe staple but depending on where the faded parts are they could look way worse than you even realsie.

Anna tried on a pair she bought with fading from the knees to the upper thigh and small patches on the hip which she wasn’t a fan of.

“The way they’re strategically faded on specific parts of the pant looks very cheap to me, it looks very poorly made.

“It doesn’t look very classic or sophisticated or polished. I just think you could do better,” she said.

See-through white jeans

When buying white jeans trying before buying is an absolute must, but not for the reason you might think.

Of course, you’ll want to make sure they fit perfectly, but when it comes to white jeans a lot of them can be see-through, Anna noted.

Even expensive brands can have this problem so always double check you can’t see your underwear underneath before committing to the purchase.

Built-in belts

A lot of trousers come with a built-in belt, but that doesn’t mean you need to use it.

The truth is they can cheapen and otherwise good pair of trousers and seem outdated.

Anna said: “If you replace the belt with an actually belt it can elevate the pants.”

You can extend the life of your trousers by making this switch and in return look way more on trend.

“Really looking at things to see how I feel about it and if it looks cheap or not has really saved me a lot of money,” she added.
