The hit BBC series Vigil will be returning for a second season, with the next to look to the skies with a brand-new investigation.

Airing in 2021, the first season followed Detective Amy Silva (Suranne Jones) who boards the Trident nuclear submarine HMS Vigil after a crew member’s death is written off as an accidental overdose, however there are suspicions of foul play.

Just a week after the finale aired, there was already talk of the show’s continuation, but it’s now officially been announced another season is on its way.

The next investigation will take Amy and Kirsten Longacre (Rose Leslie) into the world of the British air force.

Following multiple unexplained fatalities at a Scottish military facility, Silva and Longacre are tasked with uncovering the cause.

Entering the hostile and closed ranks of the air force, the pair must face the deadly warfare of tomorrow as they fight for their own future.
