PewDiePie’s Twitch channel unexpectedly came back to life after years of being dormant, causing his followers to wonder if the YouTube star had been hacked.

After signing an exclusive deal to stream on YouTube in 2020, fans didn’t expect PewDiePie to return to Twitch any time soon.

However, a strange video appeared on his Twitch channel on March 21 rebroadcasting old videos of PewDiePie.

Weirder still, at some point the channel switched to streaming episodes of Canadian comedy show Trailer Park Boys, though this part has since been removed from the video.

Viewers quickly took to the chat, and to Twitter, to sound the alarm for hackers, but it’s not clear if that’s what is going on.

A few moments later some eagle-eyed fans spotted a pinned message in the chat from CoPilotMedia, a media company that specialises in rebroadcasting certain franchises via content creators’ channels.

The message assured fans that this was no hack, and that they were simply conducting a quick beta test.

Moreover, CoPilotMedia confirmed the channel would make a return on March 22 with the same sort of content.

PewDiePie has yet to say anything about the whole thing, leaving fans scratching their heads in confusion.

The YouTuber is also currently busy prepping for the arrival of his first child, with wife Marzia Kjellberg.

The couple has got a few more months to kill before the stork comes knocking, as Marzia’s due date is set for sometime in July.

So, it wouldn’t be surprising to see either of them working on something new, or in PewDiePie’s case, peculiar side projects.

While PewDiePie is still one of the biggest names in the streaming world, the crown for the top spot on YouTube has been passed on to none other than MrBeast.

It doesn’t look like the Swedish streamer is too bothered to win back his throne, but his recent switch to Twitch might be foreshadowing the start of a new era…

Did pewdiepie get hacked on Twitch…? I feel so bad. People are subscribing and gifting subs 😭😭😭
