Piers Morgan is among those who’ve paid tribute to Susanna Reid as she marks an incredible 20 years on breakfast TV, dubbing her his ‘ex-TV wife’.

In 2003, Susanna began her role as a co-presenter on BBC Breakfast, working alongside Charlie Stayt and the late Bill Turnbull in the position until 2014.

In the same year that she left the programme, she switched alliances to ITV by joining Good Morning Britain, working with the likes of Piers, Ben Shephard and Kate Garraway.

On Wednesday March 22, Susanna celebrated her work milestone of two decades on breakfast television, saying how it was a ‘shame’ not to be able to commemorate the occasion with Bill, who died last year at the age of 66.

On Twitter, several people shared messages hailing Susanna, including dubbing her the ‘goat [greatest of all time] of morning telly’.

‘Congrats to my ex-TV wife @susannareid100 on her 20th anniversary of presenting breakfast TV,’ wrote Piers, who left GMB in March 2021.

Posting a picture of himself and Susanna together, he added: ‘Amazing achievement! ps I miss those eye-rolls….’

Sports correspondent and former footballer Mark Bright chimed in to say: ‘Many congratulations @susannareid100 20yrs of breakfast tv.’

During today’s GMB, Lorraine Kelly also shared a message live on-air for her ITV colleague.

‘More congratulations. 20 years on breakfast TV. We got you a wee gift, it’s very silly,’ she revealed.

Susanna was then presented with a ‘platinum’ award, as Lorraine quipped: ‘How silly is that?’

‘You’re the queen of breakfast telly,’ Susanna insisted to Lorraine.

Today also saw the announcement made revealing the nominations for the Bafta TV Awards, with GMB receiving a nod for Susanna’s interview with Boris Johnson in the news coverage category.
