Alexa Bliss has shared an update amid her recovery from skin cancer.

The WWE superstar recently revealed she had been diagnosed and undergone treatment for basal cell carcinoma, the most common form of skin cancer, and now she has posted a selfie showing stitches from the procedure, as well as some new jewellery.

Alexa, who recently appeared on The Masked Singer US, tweeted that her ‘stitches and piercings are healing up quite nicely’.

Her former tag team partner Nikki Cross was among those to respond to the post, simply replying with a red love heart emoji.

‘Thank you for sharing this update. All of us fans will keep sending positive thoughts your way,’ a follower wrote.

‘I wish you a speedy recovery and wish you the best,’ another fan replied, while a third added: ‘Get well soon, can’t wait to see you back’.

Earlier this week, the five-time world champion noted she had treatment for skin cancer after discovering a spot on her face, which ‘had gotten worse’ when she went to get it checked out.

She revealed the news on her Instagram Story as she shared a selfie with a plaster on her face and wrote: ‘Dear younger me,

‘You should have stayed out of tanning beds. All clear now though. Thank you @americanskininstitute for taking great care of me.’

Responding to a concerned fan, she said: ‘Thank you! Don’t worry, short healing time. Always get your skin checked! Esp if you are in the sun or use tanning beds! Lol (sic)’

Another person asked if she saw ‘marks or spots’ that convinced her get checked, and she went into a bit more detail.

She explained: ‘There was a spot on my face yes- that had gotten worse. So went to get biopsy. Was basal cell carcinoma. During my procedure doc also found other squamous cells. Was a quick and easy procedure. Glad I always get my skin checked 😊’

The popular star hasn’t appeared on WWE TV since she lost to Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair at the 2023 Royal Rumble at the end of January, and fans had been speculating about her current status.

There had been reports suggesting she was taking a break from the company, but the former champ, who has spoken about the impact of negativity on social media, dismissed the idea.

She tweeted: ‘I’m tired of seeing these tweets. I am not on a hiatus. They know where to find me.’

She later added: ‘Also need to remember – you only see what parts of life I want you to see.’
