Linda Nolan has shared a new update about her health, revealing that her cancer has now spread to her brain.

The singer, 64, who first found fame with her sisters in the girl group The Nolans in the 1970s, appeared on Monday’s Good Morning Britain to open up about the plans for her latest treatment.

Speaking to co-hosts Richard Madeley and Susanna Reid, she said: ‘Unfortunately, sadly for me, my cancer has now spread to my brain, which I only found out on Monday.’

Describing the diagnosis as ‘very frightening’, Linda acknowledged that there ‘isn’t much help for brain cancer’ apart from radiotherapy, which she is going to undergo.

On top of that, there’s a new medication that’s been in use for a year that she’s going to try as a chemo drug, she shared.

Linda outlined that she’s always been open about her treatment, stating: ‘I just want people to know that’s the situation.’

‘I’m positive, I’m not giving up,’ she affirmed, adding that she’s going to end up losing her hair for a fourth time.

One of her sisters joked that she now has some ‘nice wigs’ following her previous cancer treatment.

Linda discovered that the cancer had spread to her brain after suffering three ‘quite nasty falls’, as the disease was affecting her balance.

‘As usual, my amazing family – I’m back living with my sister Denise and her partner Tom and Maureen has been looking after me for the last two weeks, just with balance issues, getting everything,’ she continued.

Linda went on to share that she’s using a wheelchair, while getting ready ‘for the inevitable’.

‘It’s a scary trip to be on, this one,’ she remarked.

Linda was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2006, before diagnosed with incurable secondary breast cancer which had spread to her hip in 2017.

Three years later, she revealed that the cancer had spread to her liver, with more tumours being discovered.

A source recently told The Mirror about the falls Linda had experienced as of late, saying that her family ‘are extremely worried now and are rallying round to support and care for her’.

‘Linda doesn’t feel safe in her home alone now,’ they said, adding: ‘‘Everyone’s hoping for the best, but preparing for the worst.’

In 2013, Linda’s sister Bernie Nolan died at the age of 52 after suffering from cancer.

In 2020, Linda and her sister Anne Nolan shared that had both been diagnosed with cancer, and were undergoing chemotherapy at Victoria Hospital in Blackpool.

The siblings received their diagnoses days apart, with The Nolans saying in a statement: ‘We will get through this together, as a family.’

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV.
