Woman slammed as she shows off dress she’s planning to wear to a friend’s wedding… but EVERYONE insists it’s ‘not ok’
WHEN it comes to going to other people’s weddings, there’s an unwritten dresscode that people always seem to stick to.
But one woman ruffled feathers when she modelled a dress that she intended on wearing to a loved one’s big day – and showed that it was white.

However, she knew the colour could ruffle feathersconvinoboard/TikTok
TikTok user @convinoboard posted a video on the social media platform, as she asked her 110.8k followers if they thought it was acceptable for her to wear or not.
Speaking directly to camera about her fashion dilemma, she said: “Honest question for the girls out there – is it bad as a wedding guest to show up in a white dress?”
@convinoboard then proceeded to give the context to her decision, explaining that this was a back-up dress when hers was no longer suitable.
She explained: ““I’ll show you my dress in a second, but this morning was rough.
“I woke up, tried on my dress that I thought I was going to wear… it did not fit.
“I was in SOS mode. I reached out to a girlfriend and was like, ‘I need a dress.’
“Bless her soul, thank goodness, she came in with this dress.”
However, she was quick to add that her first thought was that it was white – which broke the girl code when attending someone else’s nuptials.
The TikToker then tried on “said white dress” and modelled the pretty lace number with an intricate design and frills on camera.
Appealing to other social media users for advice, she said: “It has beigeish undertones to it, so is this ok?”
She further stressed: “It’s not like white, white… but it’s white.
“Is this ok to wear to a wedding?”
Almost immediately @convinoboard was flooded with comments – and everyone seemed to be in agreement that it was totally unacceptable.
One person slammed her as they said: “Don’t act like you don’t know that that’s not ok. It’s not ok.”
Another person was in agreement as they said: “White and lace = NO.”
While a third added: “It’s a hard NO.”
Speaking about the reasons behind their strong reaction, another person commented: “ONLY the bride wears white.”
As another person seemingly summed up everyone else’s thoughts, as they typed: “This isn’t an unwritten rule… it’s WELL KNOWN. Don’t do it.”
But everyone quickly said she couldn’t wear itconvinoboard/TikTok
