Lydia Bright’s sister, Georgia, has been taken to hospital after contracting sepsis, her mother has revealed.

Debbie, 58, who appeared on Towie alongside her daughter, 32, shared the news, explaining that Georgia, 33, was initially diagnosed with tonsilitis after becoming unwell.

However, her condition quickly worsened and Debbie moved Georgia back home to care for her.

Before long, though, she was dashed to the hospital with the deadly infection.

Taking to her Instagram page – which boasts 163k followers – Debbie shared a series of childhood snaps of Georgia and Lydia, along with a recent smiley selfie.

‘Not sure how I start to write this but the aim of this post is to highlight the importance of a window of opportunity you may have,’ she began in her caption.

‘All to often we take our health for granted, we believe our bodies are doing just fine, our health believe me is our wealth yet we fail most of the time to nurture ourselves with kindness, time and nourishment [sic].

‘Saying all of this it could be a tiny thing that turns out something so desperately serious we just don’t see it coming.’

The TV star continued: ‘My daughter Georgia become ill a few weeks ago, anyone who knows Georgia knows she’s a 100 miles an hour so when she takes to her bed it means she’s unwell.

‘I moved her back with me, nursed her day and night. A visit to the doctors diagnosed with tonsillitis.

‘Things went from bad to worse……. I rushed her to hospital where she was rushed through with SEPSIS.’

‘This week a documentary hit our screens 48,000 people die of sepsis every year💔 please always look out for the following signs’, she wrote, before listing signs of the disease.

‘And remember you know your child better than anyone, you know when something is wrong. I love you @xgeorgiabrightx my little fighter ❤️😊 @uksepsistrust’, Debbie concluded.

The documentary she referenced was ITV film, Jason & Clara: In Memory of Maudie.

Made by Jason Watkins and his wife Clara Francis, the doc told the story of their two-year-old daughter, who died in 2010 after contracting sepsis, which went undiagnosed until it was too late.

Debbie’s family has since been inundated with supportive messages, with Georgia herself commenting to praise her mum for being her ‘rock’, suggesting she’s now on the mend.

‘I wouldn’t have been able to get through these last 2 weeks without you. My complete rock. I couldn’t possibly love you anymore ❤️ x’, she wrote sweetly.

Sister Lydia also commented a series of red heart emoji.

The NHS states that sepsis is a life-threatening reaction to an infection.

It happens when the immune system overreacts to an infection and starts to damage the body’s own tissues and organs.

Sepsis cannot be caught from another person.
