Comedian Lucy Beaumont‘s showstopper was branded to ‘worst ever’ during the latest episode of The Great Celebrity Bake Off for Stand Up to Cancer.

The 39-year-old joined the likes of Olympic gold medallist Tom Daley, radio presenter Adele Roberts, and actor David Morrissey.

During Sunday’s instalment, Lucy presented judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith her crumbling showstopper creation – which was inspired by an all-you-can-eat carvery dinner with Tom Hardy and Idris Elba.

After the star pleaded with the experts to ‘not judge’ her final task, Prue quipped: ‘If we asked you for your worst nightmare, then I’d think you’d win.’

Paul decided to bite the bullet and try Lucy’s bake, but spat it out soon after.

Savage!

‘I wouldn’t say it’s inedible, but it’s on the way. I’ve never had a cake like it. It’s bizarre,’ he said.

Out of earshot, Paul told Prue as well as hosts Noel Fielding and Matt Lucas: ‘It’s certainly one of the worst cakes we’ve ever seen in the tent!’

Before David was crowned this week’s Star Baker, Noel couldn’t resist making a dig at Lucy prior to the announcement.

‘The winner of star baker is Lucy… No of course it isn’t,’ before adding, ‘If it was up to me you’d be the winner.’

Addressing his win, David said: ‘I can’t believe it. I mean, I don’t know whether you saw my face when it was announced, I was convinced it was going to be Adele, I thought her cake was so amazing. So, yeah, I won’t gloat about it.’

Prue added: ‘David had a really good two days. He’s a really careful baker. Tom and Adele were both close on David’s heels. David didn’t romp ahead and win, he just pipped them to the post.’

The Great Celebrity Bake Off for Stand Up To Cancer returns to Channel 4 later this year.
