Succession fans are begging for Alan Ruck to get an Emmy after the latest episode, particularly after the delivery of one of the show’s most harrowing lines ever.

In the latest episode, titled Rehearsal, Connor delivers a gut-punch monologue to his three siblings after largely staying on the fence during their increasingly desperate feud with Logan (Brian Cox).

After further evidence his impending marriage to Willa is crumbling before it’s even begun, Connor acknowledged being somewhat of an afterthought in the Roy dynasty – not quite significant enough to poise a threat to either his siblings or father.

But there was one particular moment in a small speech to Shiv, Kendall and Roman which really hit viewers.

‘The good thing about having a family that doesn’t love you is that you learn to live without it,’ he said, bluntly.

‘You’re all chasing after dad, saying, “Oh, love me. Please love me. I need love, I need attention.”

‘You’re needy love sponges, and I’m a plant that grows on rocks and lives off insects that die inside of me.’

Fans celebrated the speech for ‘finally giving Connor his moment’ and called for Alan to get his Emmy recognition.

‘Connor Roy’s soliloquy tonight about never getting love is the perfect metaphor for how poorly Alan Ruck has been treated at the Emmys. The TV Academy has but one more opportunity to fix that. It should,’ noted one viewer.

Another called Connor’s rant Alan Ruck ‘one of the most tragic lines in #Succession’s history’ while someone else wrote: ‘I was on the fence before, but this episode officially made me a connhead.’
