Top streamer Nickmercs is fed up with Apex Legends cheaters and thinks they should be locked away.

Despite Respawn’s efforts to ban thousands of accounts over the years, cheating continues to be a major problem for Apex Legends.

Big name streamers often use their platform to encourage games to improve their anti-cheat systems, but it seems cheaters are never deterred for long.

After encountering cheaters in Apex Legends for hours on end, Nickmercs took to Twitter to make some very bold statements, unable to contain his anger.

He went as far as suggesting that hackers, in general, should be behind bars.

‘If you cheat and hack in video games, you should 100% be sent to jail,’ the Apex Legends star wrote.

As soon as Nickmercs’ tweet started to get some traction, fans noticed several top streamers leaving comments in agreement, that cheaters should be punished.

If you cheat & hack in video games, you should 100% be sent to jail.

I know the majority of y’all are busy touching grass & shit, that’s lit, super happy for ya. But your boy just spent 20 hours getting hacked on in online video games & I’ve had enough.

However, instead of sending cheaters to jail, iiTzTimmy proposed an alternative solution. He claimed there should be a system in place that involves linking players’ profile to every game they play, which would permanently record cheating on their digital record.

I personally think we should have a gaming profile that you have to link to every game. One per user and you can’t make another. If you cheat, then its on your gaming record and gg.

Nickmercs has faced some criticism for his extreme suggestion, with some stating that he overreacted and that he should simply ‘deal with it.’ Nevertheless, the majority of his fans related to his frustration.

His post came only a few hours after Activision announced a significant update to their Ricochet anti-cheat software for Call Of Duty, to clamp down on Cronus Zen users.

A Cronus Zen is a small device that players connect to their controllers or PCs to give them an unfair advantage when it comes to shooting and aiming.

Many Apex Legends players have urged Respawn to take similar action, but so far there’s been no response from the company.
