All Elite Wrestling is coming to the UK for the first time with a massive show at Wembley Stadium.

The company, which was set up by Fulham and Jacksonville Jaguars executive Tony Khan in 2019 as a rival to WWE, will be holding the iconic London venue’s first wrestling event since SummerSlam 1992 when AEW: All In London arrives on August 27.

It will mark AEW’s first show outside North America as it builds its audience on ITV4, with tickets going on sale next month.

In a statement, Khan said: ‘The UK is one of the most important markets in professional wrestling, and AEW is coming in hot as the number one wrestling company in the UK on television.

‘We want our debut in London to be epic in scale, and there’s no better venue than Wembley Stadium to deliver what I know will be one of the greatest events in AEW’s history.

‘This April also marks 100 years of Warner Bros. and 100 years of Wembley Stadium – it’s a fitting time to come together for AEW: All In London at Wembley Stadium.’

The announcement itself was made during Wednesday night’s episode of AEW Dynamite by Khan, Adam Cole and British wrestling legend Nigel McGuinness.

Khan paid tribute to AEW’s roots in the iconic All In independent wrestling event, which was held in 2018 by Cody Rhodes, Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks and essentially led to the company’s birth.

Meanwhile, the roster features a host of familiar faces, including former WWE superstars like Chris Jericho, Jon Moxley (Dean Ambrose), Bryan Danielson (Daniel Bryan) and Saraya (Paige).

Of course, the Khan family is no stranger to Wembley either, with his father Shahid Khan serving as chairman of Fulham, and seeing his team earn promotion to the Premier League with playoff wins at Wembley Stadium in 2018 and 2020.

The event will also serve as a homecoming for the likes of AEW Women’s World Champion Jamie Hayter, Saraya, Nigel McGuinness, PAC, Anthony Ogogo and more.

Speaking before the announcement Saraya, formerly known as Paige in WWE, told Metro.co.uk: ‘I’m excited! The first time AEW’s coming to the UK, to be part of that is such a big deal.’
