One of the Spring Breakout quests in Fortnite requires you to give a hired specialist a command and thankfully it’s pretty easy.
Fortnite is currently hosting a variety of events, including the Spring Breakout special, which aims to celebrate the arrival of spring with a number of challenges.
From locating Easter eggs scattered around the island to visiting cherry blossom trees, there are plenty of simple quests you can do to rack up XP and boost your progress.
You’ll also notice eight mercenary-like characters roaming around, that are called hired specialists, which you need to approach and get to join your team.
The hired specialist can be found all around the island, and are basically non-playable characters that you can order around.
Here’s where you can find each and every one of the hired specialists in Fortnite:
Garrison (supply specialist): At Watery Watch in the southwest corner of the map
Insight (scout specialist): At Cold Cavern, northwest of Brutal Bastion
Longshot (scout specialist): At Royal Ruin, west of The Citadel
Munitions Expert (supply specialist): At Breakwater Bay
Polar Patroller (heavy specialist): By the frozen lake west of Brutal Bastion
Remedy (medic specialist): At Secluded Spire, southwest of Slappy Shores
Sludge (heavy specialist): At Steamy Springs
Triage Trooper (medic specialist): South of Lonely Labs

After successfully recruiting a specialist to join your squad, check the top left corner of your screen, just below your name and health bar, for a button that allows you to access their command menu.
You’ll then have the ability to instruct your hired specialist to wait, follow, or move to a specific location.
If you’ve been knocked down, you can even request them to come revive you, which can be (literally) life-saving when facing a tough opponent.

Any command you give to the hired specialist will automatically resolve the challenge, allowing you to dismiss them if they prove to be more of a hindrance than an asset.
If you want even more freebies and XP, make sure to check out the Lantern Fest Tour island and make sure to complete all the puzzles before they expire at the end of April.
