Bonnie Somerville has married Dave McClain in a stunning ceremony, after ‘making peace’ with staying single.
The Friends actress, who played Mona in season eight of the iconic sitcom, met her now-husband on dating app Bumble just before lockdown hit in 2020, and they bonded over their shared love of music.
They soon became inseparable and got engaged after eight months of dating, eventually saying their ‘I dos’ in a stunning ranch in the Santa Susana Mountains, in California on April 8.
In pictures obtained by People Magazine, the 49-year-old opted for an off-the-shoulder sheer white lace gown with floral detailing and a long train, paired with an intricate veil.
The groom went for a smart black suit and white shirt, completing his outfit with stylish trainers.
However, their love story could have been wildly different as the bride only had 10 minutes left to reply to Dave’s initial Bumble match before losing the connection for good.

‘I hadn’t been on the app very long, and never checked in,’ she told the outlet. ‘I was shooting Blue Bloods and was showing an actor how the dating apps work and I randomly saw a message that this guy used his one-time extension to meet me.
‘There was 10 minutes left for me to reply. It was so random because had I not logged in to show my friend, I never would have met him! I saw his smile and said “I’m gonna swipe for this guy!”
‘We texted, then moved to an hour and a half call, then I got back to LA, we went out for our first date and that was that! I knew right away he was the one.’

On the app, singletons swipe around until they see someone they like and, if the attraction is mutual, they match for 24 hours – but it is down to women to send the first message.
Once a match is made, if a message is not sent within the first day, users are able to extend it for another 24 hours to spark up a connection.
Before eventually messaging Dave, Bonnie was content with her life, and okay with not walking down the aisle.

The star, who has also appeared in The OC, Criminal Minds and Blue Bloods, added: ‘I truly was at a place in my life where I was okay with the thought of being alone. After seeing all my friends get married years ago, and have children, and many failed relationships, and bad decisions, I made peace with the fact I might never meet “the one.” And then I met Dave.
‘I believe in true love now. It’s never too late.’
