The nature of Liam Payne and Tommy Fury’s ‘fight’ has finally been revealed and fans are relieved.

The internet went into meltdown when the former One Direction singer, 29, shared a nose-to-nose promo picture of himself with the boxer, 23, in what appeared to be a suggestion they would fight

Listing the location as Old Trafford, Manchester, their two names topped the title and it read: ‘This summer. Announcement tomorrow.’

But the What Makes You Beautiful singer and the Love Island star will not be putting on gloves and heading to the ring, instead, they will be battling it out on a football pitch.

The Night Changes hitmaker and the athlete will be taking part in this year’s Soccer Aid, with Tommy in a team captained by Olympic sprint champion Usain Bolt, while Liam will be in I’m A Celebrity star Jill Scott’s opposing team.

Fans breathed a collective sigh of relief when it was announced that the pair wouldn’t be boxing, with one writing on social media: ‘Wait are you not fighting? Thank god lololol I was afraid of you getting hurt.’
