We’ve all heard the reports of Bruno Tonioli causing chaos on Britain’s Got Talent, but now we’ve got tales from the man himself.
The former Strictly Come Dancing judge joins Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, and Alesha Dixon for the new series of the ITV talent show.
Replacing David Walliams, Bruno is the new boy – and he admits he had no idea what to expect heading into the job.
Appearing on The One Show on Thursday (April 13), the Italian star spilled the beans on the already iconic moment he pressed the coveted golden buzzer mid-performance!
Of course, judges (along with hosts Ant and Dec) get one special golden buzzer per series, allowing them to send an act straight through to the semi-finals.
However, as Bruno claims he was told there were ‘no rules’ on BGT, he ended up pressing his buzzer not only at the wrong time, but twice!

Speaking to host Alex Jones, the dancer began: ‘The crazy thing is, I had no idea I was up for the job. I had no idea. I’d never watched it!
‘How do I research? I got the job then I was on screen the next week.
‘I said, “Well, what are the rules, Simon?”, he said, “There’s no rules, darling, you just do your thing”.
‘Obviously, I did my thing… and you know what!’
‘I love the golden buzzer,’ he added excitedly. ‘Nobody told me that you are supposed to do it only once! I didn’t know! I kept asking him (Simon) and he’s the boss!’

After watching a teaser clip of this weekend’s show, Bruno burst into fits of laughter over his naughty antics on set, revealing his nerves to join the panel.
‘I messed up the buzzer the first day!’, he cackled.
‘I was petrified, I was very nervous,’ he admitted.
‘Nobody told me, I didn’t have any rehearsals, nothing, just, you’re on!’
Bruno proceeded to tease an ‘amazing’ dance troupe in the first round of auditions, that was ‘so incredible’ that he just ‘couldn’t wait’ to hit the buzzer.

‘I literally went for it, and it was mid-performance,’ he said, giggling. ‘I had no idea that the whole stage would explode with gold and there was this, kind of, gasp, I said, “What’s going on here? Have I done something wrong?”‘
He added that the kids ‘carried on’ and it made for a great performance.
