Britain’s Got Talent is back for 2023 – with new judge Bruno Tonioli (Picture: PA)

It barely seems like five minutes ago that we were crowning the winner of Britain’s Got Talent 2022 – but now the show is back for its 2023 series.

Over the coming weeks we can look forward to more singers, dance troupes, magicians and other acts showing us their skills, in their bid to be crowned series champion – and nab a spot at the Royal Variety Performance as well as a £250,000 cash prize.

As usual Ant and Dec will be on hand to guide the nervous hopefuls through their paces, while there’s a new judge joining the ranks, in the wake of David Walliams’ departure.

It’s going to be unmissable TV, as usual – but what time does it all kick off?

Here’s what time you should tune in…

What time does Britain’s Got Talent 2023 start tonight?

That one begins at 7.45pm and runs through until 9pm, before the start of ITV’s new drama The Hunt For Raoul Moat.

If you miss either episode you’ll be able to catch up with them both via ITVX.

Who are the Britain’s Got Talent judges this year?

Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon are all returning to the Britain’s Got Talent judging panel this year – but they’ve been joined by a new face.

Former Strictly judge Bruno Tonioli is stepping on to the panel, replacing David Walliams who quit the series after a decade.

Although no formal reason was given for his departure, prior to auditions he came under fire over leaked recordings which exposed his scathing remarks about contestants.

He apologised for his offensive comments, stating: ‘I would like to apologise to the people I made disrespectful comments about during breaks in filming for Britain’s Got Talent in 2020.

‘These were private conversations and – like most conversations with friends – were never intended to be shared. Nevertheless, I am sorry.’

It was later confirmed he had quit the series.

Bruno was unveiled as his replacement when auditions began in January – saying at the time he was ‘thrilled’ to be on board.

He added in a statement: ‘Here we are, Britain’s Got Talent. I am so excited. It’s my first show, I have no idea what’s going to happen, but I’m sure it’s going to be brilliant.’

Who won Britain’s Got Talent in 2022?

The 2022 series of the show was won by comedian Axel Blake.

Axel, a former property maintenance manager from West London, made it through to the finals after winning Simon Cowell’s golden buzzer, and fought off competition from 10 other acts to take the title.

He was lost for words afterwards, telling Ant and Dec: ‘I’m shaking, thank you everyone for voting for me… I can’t believe it.’

As well as performing at the Royal Variety Performance and pocketing £250,000, Blake is currently on tour across the UK, culminating in two dates at London’s Leicester Square Theatre on May 7 and 15.
