Take That fans have been left disappointed after they mistakenly thought Robbie Williams was going to join them on stage at the Coronation Concert – twice.
The three remaining members of the group – Gary Barlow, 52, Mark Owen, 51, and Howard Donald, 55 – took to the stage in the grounds of Windsor Castle to celebrate the coronation of King Charles III, which took place on Saturday.
And while many fans thought it may be the perfect occasion for former member Robbie, 49, to rejoin them, it sadly wasn’t meant to be.
But that wasn’t before Gary got their hopes up not once but twice as he introduced some special guests to their performance.

Firstly, as the trio kicked off their set with hit Greatest Day, the former X Factor judge shouted: ‘Joining us on stage is the amazing Robin Schulz. Good evening Robin!’
At this point, one viewer took took to social media to write: ‘I thought they were about to bring out Robbie Williams 😭’.
A second added: ‘The only acceptable friend for take that to welcome to the stage would be robbie williams. Unimpressed,’ while a third penned: ‘Mate I thought they were gonna bring out Robbie Williams’.

‘I thought Take That were about to bring out Robbie Williams, bitterly disappointed,’ somebody else wrote.
And to rub salt into the wounds, Gary got hopes up again when he introduced Britain’s Got Talent star Calum Scott to the stage.
‘Ok, right now we want to bring a friend of ours on stage. Please welcome Mr Calum Scott.’
Viewers flocked back to Twitter to share their outrage, with one writing: ‘Callum Scott….ffs I thought Robbie Williams was aboot to appear.’

Another said: ‘That’s twice in a minute everyone thought Robbie Williams was coming on.’
While a third asked: ‘Who else was hoping that @robbiewilliamswas going to get on stage with @takethat.’
Take That superfans Dawn Fenwick and Sian Gould travelled from High Wycombe to see one of their favourite groups and to try and see the royal family dancing along.

Dawn told PA ahead of the event: ‘I’m looking forward to seeing Charles having a bop. Being a part of it is why we are here. It’s a shame it’s not the full five [members of Take That]’.
The Coronation Concert is available to watch on BBC iPlayer and listen back to on BBC Sounds.
