The Bold Type star Sam Page reveals hopes for Sutton Brady spin-off and we need this to happen immediately-Rishma Dosani-Entertainment – Metro

Sam Page has opened up about his time on the Bold Type, revealing that some ideas were ‘seriously bounced around’ concerning a spin-off.

The 46-year-old played Richard Hunter in the popular series, which followed the lives and loves of three women working at the fictitious Scarlet Magazine, in New York.

It ran for five seasons between 2017 – 2021, and starred Meghann Fahy, Aisha Dee and Katie Stevens in the lead roles.

Richard didn’t have the easiest time on the show, with his marriage to Sutton Brady (Meghann) falling apart shortly after they tied the knot, following a disagreement about having children.

The pair managed to work through their issues in the emotional series finale, and called off their split at the last minute – with fans calling out for more of the series ever since.

Discussing whether he would be keen to reprise his role, Sam didn’t hesitate for a second before offering to jump back into all things Scarlet.

‘Hell yes, absolutely,’ he told People Magazine. ‘It was so much fun. I loved working with Meghann. It was the best.’

‘I think there were ideas that were seriously bounced around,’ he teased of a possible spin-off. ‘I think it ended up being something that they looked into and couldn’t do because of character rights and stuff.’

Predicting what the series could focus on, the actor – who has also appeared in Gossip Girl and Desperate Housewives – suggested that Sutton could launch her very own fashion line.

‘And then it would be an exploration – which was the storyline we never really got to do and I was always thought we would do on the show – of why somebody in a position like Sutton’s can’t have it all because they’re a woman, and why you can’t have the family [and] the extreme level of success of her business, of her fashion design,’ he added.

‘I think with the show we always talked about it and hoped we would hit that point of an exploration of that.’

Aside from the Bold Type, Sam recently joined the Grey’s Anatomy fold, making his debut as Sam Sutton on the May 4 episode, Come Fly With Me.

He switched things up in the medical drama, coming on board as an air force pilot who was injured in a base-jumping accident.
