I went to M&S and spotted 6 perfect dresses for summer – they’re great for holiday and I’d wear them next year too

A FASHION fan has been singing Marks & Spencer’s praises after checking out their summer style collection.

The woman, who decided to overhaul her style when she turned 40, visited her local store on the high street to see if there was anything she could add to the capsule wardrobe she’s creating.

And social media user My Capsule Wardrobe (@mycapsulewardrobe) was pleasantly surprised when she spotted five different dresses that she said would elevate anyone’s closet.

The TikTokerhttps://www.thesun.co.uk/topic/tiktok/ hand picked them from the M&S’ rails, before she filmed herself in the fitting room trying each of them on.

In a video posted for her 18.3k followers, she said: “If you’re in your 40s and you struggle with what to wear, then so do I.

“I’m building a capsule wardrobe in my 40s for spring/ summer. Let’s go to M&S as I’ve seen their summer collection online and it looks lush.”

The first dress that My Capsule Wardrobe modelled was a black and white patterned aztec dress.

The short sleeved midi number – which costs £55 – features a flattering frilly drop hem and slightly puffy sleeves.

The woman said she felt that at 5 foot eight inches, she was a little too tall for the design, but was a big fan otherwise, describing it as “so nice”.

She added of the monochrome ‘midaxi’ style: “Imagine wearing that on holiday – absolutely love that dress.”

The second dress in her shopping bag was one of her big favourites of the day – a cream, knitted, maxi vest dress on sale for £39.50.

She said: “Oh my days, this is a bit of me – perfect for a capsule wardrobe.

“You’ll wear this year after year after year.

“All I can say is – this is coming home with me.”

A black, long-sleeved dress with a pattern around the top and the hem also got a big thumbs up.

She said of the £45 buy: “This is really cute. I like black on holiday.

“I know it kind of attracts the heat, black, but this was lovely and light and I think it would show off your tan.”

A burnt orange also caught her eye, as she said that the spaghetti strapped £39.50 number was ideal for a beach holiday.

Her penultimate find was a bardot, floral print maxi dress with long sleeves which is again £39.50.

The pretty print is also available in a swimming costume and a bikini, and struck all the right notes.

The TikToker concluded: “This is a beautiful, perfect summer dress – I absolutely love it.”

While last, but by no means least, My Capsule Wardrobe picked up a simple, black vest dress with a flattering slit up one side that costs £39.50 once more.

She said: “This is coming home with me. Call me basic, but that’s what a capsule wardrobe is all about.

The social media star added: “I will wear this summer after summer after summer.”
