I’m a style expert & you’ve been wearing the wrong jeans for your body shape – and skinny jeans STILL aren’t fashionable

DO you love wearing jeans but don’t know which style you should be slipping on each morning?

Luckily, a fashion pro is on hand to reveal the jeans that suit each body shape – but it’s bad news if you’re hoping that skinny jeans are making a comeback.

The fashion pro went through different styles of jeans from flares to bootlegsTiktok/@stylingwithkenzie

Social media stylist Kenzie is on a mission to teach TikTok users “how to find your style and minimise” their wardrobe.

And in her latest video posted to her profile @stylingwithkenzie, Kenzie turned her attention to jeans.

She asked her 451k followers: “Have you ever wondered which style of jeans works best for your body type?

“Well, today, I’m going to show you which style is the most flattering.”

Kenzie then went through different styles of jeans – from bootcut to flares – and highlighted the body type that should be opting for them.

First up, she spoke about a skinny flare denim type of jeans as she revealed: “This style is really great for balancing out the lower half of your body.

“If you have an inverted triangle or an apple shaped body type, these are a great style of denim to wear for your body shape.”

However, she said it was a different story if you have a pear shaped figure.

Kenzie continued: “You want to opt for a wider leg style rather than the skinnier flare.”

Meanwhile, if you’re on the petite side, you should be looking out for kick flare jeans.

Moving onto the bootcut jean, Kenzie said that it’s a rare gem that suits almost everyone.

She explained: “It is the most universal jean that pretty much every body type can wear and it looks great.

“These jeans have a more relaxed fit and they are a little bit looser in the ankle area. Overall, they are kind of between a straight leg or a flare, and I really like these for just an everyday jean.”

But she had an additional piece of advice for those who were fans of the bootleg.

Kenzie added: “Bootcut jeans are not just made to wear with boots – you can wear them with sneakers, flats and even with sandals.”

But Kenzie didn’t have the same to say about “the millennial favourite” – the skinny jean.

She said: “I know you girls want these to come back, but let me just tell you that they are a little out of style.”

However, she said there were a few times that could make an exception if you are a rectangle shape or have an hourglass figure – including tucking them into boots.

And she did offer up a good alternative for those who still found themselves drawn to the skinnier type of denim.

She concluded: “Straight leg jeans normally fit best on an hourglass body shape, a rectangle body shape and a pear body shape.

“For those of you who like skinny jeans, a straight leg is a great alternative.”

Kenzie continued: “Andi if you love straight leg and have an apple, inverted triangle or even a pear shape, then a more relaxed straight leg is such a great look for you.

“It gives you more room in the thigh area and it’s overall just a more relaxed fit.”
