Mustafa Ali landed a shock win on WWE Raw to earn a massive Intercontinental Championship match at Night of Champions.

The overly positive underdog emerged victorious in a high stakes Battle Royale on Monday night to land himself a title shot against GUNTHER at the upcoming event in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

The Ring General was at ringside with Imperium for the match, which also included the likes of Bronson Reed, Apollo Crews, Johnny Gargano, Ricochet, The Viking Raiders, Alpha Academy, Dolph Ziggler, Von Wagner, Matt Riddle, Xyon Quinn and JD McDonagh.

There was plenty of drama, with Ludwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci taking out Riddle, and McDonagh destroying Dolph Ziggler at ringside to kickstart the Irish Ace’s first rivalry on Raw.

The Viking Raiders and Alpha Academy were also at odds, laying the groundwork for a fresh rivalry in the tag team ranks.

In the end, Ali got the win with a dropkick to Reed as he had Ricochet on his shoulders, eliminating both men.

It sets the stage for a huge match for a man who has been preaching about thinking Positive-Ali lately, and even in a loss to GUNTHER he could come out looking much stronger than in recent months.

Paul Heyman and Imperium help Judgment Day beat Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn, Liv Morgan injured and Becky Lynch challenges Trish Stratus

The show started with Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn hyping up their Night of Champions title defence against The Bloodline’s Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa, before Judgment Day interrupted them.

As ever, Dominik Mysterio got nuclear heat from the crowd, and this all broke down into a brawl which led to the evening’s main event pitting Damian Priest and Finn Balor against KO and Sami.

The Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions fought valiantly in a fantastic bout, but in the end Paul Heyman was able to enlist Imperium to help target The Bloodline’s main rivals after Xavier Woods made sure Dom couldn’t keep interfering.

The numbers game proved too much as Vinci and Kaiser distracted the referee while GUNTHER halted Sami, leading to a dropkick and Coup de Grace from Balor.

Earlier on, the first match of the night saw Shinsuke Nakamura pick up a much needed win over The Miz, and you’d hope Triple H and WWE have bigger plans for The Artist now.

Becky Lynch cut an incredible passionate and intense promo directed at Trish Stratus, revealing the Hall of Famer’s betrayal and insults have reignited a fire in her and brought back the real her again.

She challenged her to a huge inter-generational match at Night of Champions, while we then saw Rhea Ripley and Natalya exchange some words as the latter took issue with the SmackDown Women’s Champion attacking Dana Brooke after their match.

Dominik Mysterio scored a huge win over Xavier Woods after a helping hand from his Mami.

Indus Sher made quick work of two local competitors and looked great in such a dominant victory, while Jinder Mahal grabbed a headset and then a microphone to hype up Veer and Sanga.

Cody Rhodes delivered a typically fantastic promo as he accepted Brock Lesnar’s challenge to a fight at Night of Champions, keeping things short and sweet.

A planned Women’s Tag Team Title match was scrapped due to an injury to Liv Morgan, leading to Raquel Rodriguez beating Chelsea Green in a fun match which saw Sonya Deville trying to get involved.

After the bell, Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler returned to attack Rodriguez, laying out the champ and staking their claims for a title shot.
