Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield are set to take a break from This Morning, according to reports.

The reports come after rumours surfaced of a ‘dwindling friendship’ between the pair, who have been close and worked together for decades.

A source initially revealed: ‘To those around them on set, it has become clear recently that Holly and Phil are not as close as they once were.’

Despite the countless headlines, earlier this week, Phillip, 61, and Holly, 42, returned to the programme to put on a united front, despite claims that they were ‘barely speaking’ behind the scenes.

Phillip also put out a statement last week, insisting that they were still best friends.

However, it’s said Holly was ‘blindsided’ by his comments, with later reports saying she had considered quitting the programme to remove herself from the tense situation.

Now though, as per MailOnline, it’s said the daytime duo will be spending some time apart and will be stepping away from hosting duties on the ITV show in just over a week’s time.
