PRIMARK fans are divided over a 2000s top that’s making a comeback.

But while some shoppers are desperate to nab the butterfly sequin top, others admitted to feeling ‘traumatised’ over the new piece of clothing.

Primark recently took to TikTok, posting on their official account, showing off the new-in sequin bralettes.

The high-street chain shared the video with the caption ‘She’s perfection. Coming very soon.’

Alongside the clip, the popular store said: “Psst..Coming soon.”

In the nine-second video, the chain showed off the new Primark bralette tops that shoppers can expect to see in stores very soon.

In the video, there’s two different coloured bralettes, each with a drawstring, tie back.

Known for its slinky design, butterfly-shaped bodice, and tied-up open back – the butterfly top first launched into pop culture at the VH1 Divas Live concert in 2000.

Here, we saw Mariah Carey walk the red carpet wearing a colourful, beaded version.

And so it’s no surprise that the top making a comeback has left many open-mouthed.

The social media clip has quickly gone viral and has amassed 3.4million views in just two days.

It has 326.4k likes, 12.3k comments and 11.9k shares.

But TikTok users were left divided at the tops – while some loved them, others weren’t so keen.

At the same time, many were stunned that the winged top trend was making a comeback after so many years.

One person said: “TRAUMA FLASHBACK off being too fat to wear these when they were first in fashion.”

Another added: “What in the 90s is going on #trauma.”

A third commented: “I can’t believe this is all coming back around.”

Someone else joked: “Did I just wake up in 2002?!”

Another asked: “Have we gone back to the late 90s early 2000s?”

At the same time, fashion fans shared their thoughts on the butterfly tops.

One fashion fan posted: “Idk if they’re nice or not.”

Another chimed in: “Noooo they look so tacky.”

However, someone else noted: “Waooow j’adore.”

Whilst another simply shared: “I need.”
