YouTuber IShowSpeed couldn’t believe his eyes once he realised he had spent an insane amount of money on a fedora hat in Roblox.

IShowSpeed has gained a reputation for pulling off grand stunts and pranks, now mostly appearing on YouTube, after getting banned on Twitch

One of his most successful viral pranks involved a supposed appearance by football star Cristiano Ronaldo on one of his streams, only for his viewers to discover it was actually an impersonator.

However, the tables turned on IShowSpeed when he attempted to troll his viewers by pretending to purchase a costly in-game item in Roblox.

The YouTuber put on a show, pretending to go all-in for the ridiculous Midnight Blue Sparkle Time fedora priced at 14 million Robux, Roblox’s in-game currency.

He breezed through the checkout process, only to be hit with a sudden realisation: he had actually made the purchase. To his disbelief, the item he now owned carried a mind-blowing price tag of £124,250, according to a Robux calculator

IShowSpeed’s immediate reaction was a series of repeated ‘Nos’ while slamming both hands on his desk multiple times.

He then said he’d try to get a refund for the ill-fated Roblox fedora, as more and more mocking comments flooded in.

‘Oh my god. I thought it was going to ask for a verification,’ he said in a bid to explain his impulsive purchase.

Because the Midnight Blue Sparkle Time fedora was released back in 2013, with only 100 copies in circulation, it has become an insanely rare item in the game, hence its sky high price.

As standard practice, Roblox considers all sales as final, which means refunds for purchases, whether intentional or accidental, are not typically provided.

However, there might be a chance for IShowSpeed to recoup some of the costs by reselling the item, although it’s uncertain if he’ll be able to make back the entire amount spent.
