All Elite Wrestling boss Tony Khan is reportedly set to confirm AEW Collision will indeed debut in Chicago.

The brand new weekly Saturday night show will premiere on June 17 and while there has been no official news on CM Punk, he is expected to be part of the historic programme.

There had been reports claiming the WWE legend had fallen out with bosses just before the show was announcement, leading to some doubt over the venue for the debut.

However, PWInsider Elite, Fightful and more are saying Collision is set for the United Center, which is the ideal place for Chicago hero Punk to return.

Despite worries the company might need a contingency plan, it appears everyone is on the same page and ready to move forward.

On tonight’s episode of AEW Dynamite, boss Khan is set to announce the location for the AEW Collision premiere, with all signs pointing to the Windy City.

It’s not clear if Punk will be mentioned tonight, or if AEW would like to save that until either June 17 itself, or perhaps this weekend’s Double or Nothing pay-per-view in Las Vegas.

There has been plenty of speculation about his future following the infamous press conference after All Out in September 2022, which saw him verbally blast The Young Bucks – who serve as executive vice presidents and are fellow wrestlers – before a brawl broke out backstage.

The physical altercation saw everyone involved taken off screen, while Punk – who was injured earlier in the evening at All Out – is yet to make his return.

With nothing official coming from either camp regarding a potential comeback just yet, the former world champion recently hit out at people for taking sides without knowing the facts of the situation.

In a blunt video on his Instagram Story, he said: ‘The para-social relationship a lot of fringe wrestling fans have with certain people is really unhealthy.

‘I get the tribalism – like, it’s fun to root for your team – but picking sides seems a little silly. You don’t know me, you don’t know anybody else. So, just… go touch grass.’

In another post references alleged ‘lying sources’ and ‘toxic gossip’, he added: ‘Friendly reminder: I haven’t been on tv in nine months and y’all still just can’t stop talking about me.

‘Maybe stop, you’ll feel better. Love, hate, it’s all the same.’
