Pink Floyd member Roger Waters has angered fans by dressing up as a Nazi SS officer while on stage in Berlin.

Performing at the Mercedes-Benz Arena last week, the controversial musician, 79, wore a costume featuring crossed hammer imagery.

It’s the same that was worn by the fictitious neo-Nazi organisation in the 1982 film Pink Floyd: The Wall.

Video footage captured by audience members shows him ending one song by grabbing a ‘rifle’ and pretending to shoot it outwards.

He also displayed the names of deceased figures on the screen, including Holocaust victim Anne Frank.

Next to Frank, however, was Abu Akleh, an Al Jazeera journalist who was fatally shot last year.

What’s more, the band’s frontman hung Third Reich-style banners above him.

Instead of swastikas, they featured crossed hammers.

It’s said that Germany’s Orthodox Jewish rabbinical association is now calling for a ban on Waters performing in their country.

The rocker has continued to deny that he is Antisemitic, though.

As Per MailOnline, he started his performance with an announcement on the screen.

‘On a matter of public interest: a court in Frankfurt has ruled I am not an Antisemite,’ it read.

‘Just to be clear, I condemn Antisemitism unreservedly.’

Taking to Twitter after the performance, social media users called his actions out.

‘This is vile and stomach turning’, one Twitter user wrote underneath a video.

‘I don’t even know how to respond to this. I thought this wasn’t allowed in Germany’, another wrote.

‘Wow. That’s disturbing’, another added.

‘Imagine doing this in Germany. Horrific’, another blasted.

Others attempted to explain Waters’ behaviour, saying he is playing a ‘character’ and that he has been doing so on stage for many years.

His next show is in Frankfurt on Sunday.

Reps for Roger Waters have been contacted for comment.
