First Dates star and former Miss Bikini Ireland Judy Fitzgerald has died aged 32.

She is said to have died ‘unexpectedly’ on Saturday, as tributes have begun pouring in from friends.

Fitzgerald, who worked as a frontline nurse and midwife, won the title of Miss Bikini Ireland in 2014, and appeared on RTE’s First Dates Ireland last March.

An obituary stated: ‘Judy Fitzgerald, Mulcair Road, Raheen Heights and Finnitstown, Adare, Co. Limerick passed away unexpectedly on 27th May 2023.

‘Sadly missed by her heartbroken parents Liam and Imelda, sister Lucy, brother William, brother-in-law Pedro, extended members of the Fitzgerald and Martin families and a large circle of friends.

‘May she rest in peace.’

In 2015, Fitzgerald walked a New York Fashion Week catwalk, dressed in a red jewelled outfit.

She went on that year to interview the event’s designers about their collections, afterwards saying the event had been a ‘dream come true’.

After winning her 2014 title, Fitzgerald represented Ireland in the world finals in Cancun.

She also competed virtually during lockdowns, at the World Beauty Fitness and Fashion Pro-International Next Level World Tour, and in 2019 won European Fitness Model Champion.
