I’m a style whizz – five outfits which make you look cheap… denim shorts belong to teenagers only

AN ELEGANCE whizz has listed the five garments to ditch if you don’t want to look cheap and tacky – and it’s bad news if your wardrobe is full of denim shorts.

Fashion guru only known as Level Blue (@level_blue) urged fellow style lovers to avoid these mistakes at all costs, as they will only ruin your appearance this summer.

Level Blue shared her top tips on TikTok, where she boasts a whopping 400k fansTikTok/@level_blue

Heavy make-up

When it comes to the most tacky fads often mentioned by experts, most of us immediately think about style and clothes – but just as important is your make-up.

If you want to elevate your looks, Level Blue advised to best ditch the heavy foundation and contour.

”It never looks good or natural in real life in daylight,” the pro explained in her video uploaded on TikTok.

”Especially on a hot summer day where you have so much make-up sitting on your face and you’re sweating – it looks horrendeous.

”Don’t wear make-up when you’re on the beach, swimming in a pool or doing any sports or activities.”

She went on to add that rather than looking like a chic summer babe, you will instead come across as ”cheap” and ”insecure”.

Denim shorts

Denim shorts are often a staple in most wardrobes – but according to the whizz, who has 400k fans on the platform, they do not belong in an elegant lady’s collection.

”Simple teenage girl look – denim shorts, tank tops, floral dresses, a rompers, flip flops and Converse shoes.

”It’s fine if you’re a teen, but as a grown woman, it is not appropriate to wear in the summer.”

Cheap jewellery

Whilst sharing her top tips on how to elevate your look, the whizz also advised to ditch cheap, layered costume rings, necklaces and earrings.

”Something I see women buy all the time in fast fashion stores, like H&M or Primark.”

Although she was aware that not everyone has the financial means to buy real gold or silver, the elegance pro reminded of the ”less is more approach”.

”Instead of having a tonne of cheap bling-bling, I would suggest in investing in one dainty elegant necklace or small, simple earrings.”

Fake tan

Fake tan may be a godsend to many – however, the style fan suggested you best chuck away all your tanning products as soon as possible.

”Obviously, fake tan or the wrong shades of tan, or using bronzing products that are transferring to your clothing or your carseats.

”I totally understand the desire to be a tanned, bronzed goddess – but if you’re doing it wrong, you’re doing yourself a disservice.”

The fashion guru advised to sticking to high quality products, as well as picking s shade that will be more natural rather than bright orange.

The wrong sunnies

As well as ditching any pair that doesn’t have a more classic look, Level Blue urged her fans to not waste their money on sunglasses with heavy brand logos.

Despite the hefty price, she noted that heavy branding will make you look cheap and should be avoided at all costs.

”The company name should be minimal and discreet.”
