Man with ‘sandpaper’ cracked hands reveals buckets of ointments and lotions still leave him with ‘really painful’ burns-Meghna Amin-Entertainment – Metro

A man with hands like ‘sandpaper’ has revealed that despite using buckets of ointments and lotions, he’s still left in excruciating pain, and his hands ‘burn’.

After already having seen four doctors, Tyler is now seeking the help of Dr Pimple Popper for his cracked, rough hands that have cuts and slits all over them.

From a heart-breaking story of a grandad living trapped ‘like a hermit’ in his house because he’s too ’embarrassed’ by his plum-sized nose, to a man with a burst cyst smelling like ‘death’ and looking like ‘scrambled eggs’, Dr Sandra Lee has seen it all, and helps patients across America with their skin problems.

In this episode, Tyler is in so much pain that he wants to cut off his own hands.

He explains: ‘So this is a bin of all of my creams and ointments that I’ve had over the years.

‘In the last two years, I’ve seen four doctors.’

However, he was told it was ‘just dry skin’ and was given pills for ‘what they thought could be causing it.’

As he continues explaining his condition, Tyler pulls out bucket-loads of creams and lotions, as well as hundreds of pairs of rubber gloves, from only the last week.

‘I go through over a hundred rubber gloves a week.

‘The gloves were meant to protect against outside bacteria, but just the sweat caused infections in my skin.’

The clip goes on to show Tyler putting on lotion, which he can’t even do with his right hand due to the pain.

‘Normally, I’ll do two pumps, just with them being so dry I have to work it in slowly.

‘It also burns quite a bit through the cut. It’s really painful.’

He continues: ‘I go through three 80 ounce bottles of lotion a week and nothing to any avail.

‘Any time I go to the doctor, it’s like what cream will they give me this time? What’s not going to work?

‘It just feels like everything is a waste of time.’

This comes after Tyler said he felt like cutting off his own hands because of his agony.

‘My hands feel like 80-grit sandpaper,’ he began.

‘The smaller cuts feel like paper cuts and then when I’ve got these bigger ones, they feel like actual knife cuts.

‘I can’t fully shut my hands without my skin just completely cracking and splitting.

‘It’s hard to do simple tasks, opening a drink, going to the bathroom, driving, using silverware.’

The clip cuts from scenes of the cuts and splits in his rough skin to showing him using his teeth to open a plastic bottle, unable to use his hands because of the pain.

He continues: ‘They don’t ever stop hurting.

‘The pain is so excruciating that I feel like i would rather cut my hands off than have them for another second.’
