You can tame and register Ganon’s trusty steed in Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom but it won’t be an easy feat.

While capturing wild horses in the wilderness is relatively simple, Tears Of The Kingdom also gives you the chance to get special horses like Princess Zelda’s golden horse and Link’s Epona

Link has the option to keep up to six horses in a stable simultaneously, including a strikingly large charcoal-coloured horse with a fiery orange mane.

This remarkable steed happens to be none other than Ganon’s horse, making a comeback from Breath Of The Wild.

Where can you find Ganon’s horse in Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom?

In Tears Of The Kingdom, Ganon’s horse can be exclusively found near Hateno Bay, positioned just southeast of Hateno Village in the lower part of the map.

Identifying this location is fairly straightforward as it resembles the shape of a crab’s claw – all you need to do is look around the left peninsula.

To reach this area, you can fast travel to Hateno Village using either the Hateno Ancient Tech Lab – if you’ve completed the Hateno Village Research Lab side adventure – or Zanmik Shrine. From there, glide southeast towards the bay region, descending along the hillside.

Ganon’s horse stands out prominently due to its immense size, easily surpassing the stature of any other horse you would have seen so far. Even if you are gliding from Hateno Village, you’ll be able to spot it from a considerable distance away.

How to tame Ganon’s horse

Similar to other horses, Link must approach Ganon’s colossal steed stealthily and calm it down through soothing it.

Approaching this horse can be challenging, especially with the presence of skittish smaller horses in the vicinity.

Crouch down and gradually approach from behind, then press the A button when prompted to mount it. Continue pressing the L button to sooth it until the horse becomes calm, eventually allowing Link to ride it.

The next step is to ride the horse to the nearest stable, which is the Dueling Peaks Stable located to the west of the peninsula.

Fortunately, there is a designated path to follow that will lead you through Hateno Village towards Hateno Fort, which is located near the stable.

Once you get there, interact with the stable owner to register your horse and receive your pony point as normal.

Ganon’s horse stats

Strength: ★★★★★

Speed: ★★★

Stamina: –

Pull: –

Temperament: Wild

Ganon’s horse proves to be highly advantageous, primarily due to its exceptional maximum strength stat, allowing it to effortlessly defeat enemies by charging into them.

As it’s a rather unique horse, you’ll quickly notice it lacks a stamina stat, meaning you’ll be unable to speed up while riding it.

Its wild temperament poses a challenge when it comes to control, occasionally displaying disobedience, and it’s also impossible to attach the the towing harness or modify its mane.
