Amanda Holden has been sharing a few cryptic messages after Phillip Schofield announced his departure from ITV.

The ITV daytime show is in turmoil after the 61-year-old presenter confessed to a relationship with a much younger runner while he was married to Stephanie Lowe, claiming their romance was ‘unwise’ but ‘not illegal.’

The revelation, which has seen Phil dropped by his agents of 35 years and The Prince’s Trust, came after rumours of a fallout with his co-star Holly Willoughby, 42.

Former This Morning hosts have weighed in over the scandal including former broadcaster Eamonn Holmes, 63.

The GB News star spoke to fellow presenter Dan Wootton in a tell-all interview to share his twopence on the ongoing situation.

But what happened between Amanda and Phil, here’s the rundown on their feud.

When did Amanda Holden and Phillip Schofield’s feud start?

The tensions between PhiI, 62, and Amanda, 52, seemingly began in 2018, when he was accused of ruining her chances of co-hosting This Morning with him while his usual co-host Holly Willoughby was over in Australia filming for I’m A Celebrity.

A former daytime TV executive claimed that Phil pushed for ITV bosses to pick Rochelle Humes over her and it’s safe to say things have been a little tense between the two presenters ever since.

As a result, Amanda was said to have ‘awkwardly confronted’ Schofe on the snub during an appearance on the show.

‘She made it clear that she felt very let down. He was lost for words but didn’t have much time to respond to Amanda’s claims because the show was going back on air,’ an insider reportedly told The Sun.

‘Neither of them realised that Amanda could be overheard by most of the team because she was still wearing her mic pack.’

However, Phil was quick to respond, tweeting: ‘The end of another really sad weekend. When you try for 35 years to be the easiest, most fun person to work with and you read such hurtful and wildly untrue stories from nameless “sources”.

‘Obviously I’ll take it on the chin..I just hope you know me better.’

An official ITV spokesperson also rubbished the claims: ‘Presenter line-ups on This Morning change regularly. Final decisions are made by producers, not presenters.

Before Phil announced his ITV exit, Amanda has previously shared who she thinks should take over from Phil on the This Morning sofa.

She told her Heart radio co-host Jamie Theakston: ‘Yes. I think him and Alison [Hammond] do a great job, don’t they?’f she thinks Dermot O’Leary would be ‘good to replace’ Schofield.

The digs didn’t stop there, after Amanda joked about the things she never wanted to find in her home, listing: ‘Spiders, flies and Phillip Schofield.’

She added that while she had extended an invite to him to catch up for a coffee, he didn’t reply to her text.

Speaking about hosting with Amanda in 2014, Phillip told Heat magazine: ‘She has a faulty edit button and she forgets she’s on the telly, which is enormously endearing and funny, but occasionally quite scary.’

When news of Ruth’s complaint was released, Amanda said that she ‘admired anyone who sticks up for themselves as it’s not an easy thing to do’.

She added: ‘There is a tin opener and a can somewhere, and other people have found the opener.’

Following Phil’s This Morning exit, Amanda shared what could probably only be described as the least subtle dig

Shortly after Phil released his statement, Amanda took to her own Instagram page to share a simple image of the flexed bicep emoji with a black background.

The post had no caption, although the symbol is obviously frequently used as a way of celebrating or showing victory.

Although she didn’t vocalise her true feelings, fans quickly pointed out the shade.

Plus, Amanda’s followers picked up what she seemed to be putting down.

‘I’m gettin the popcorn 🤣🤣’, one follower joked.

‘AMANDA THE SHADE THE SHADE’, another commented.

‘No Holden Back for sure – YES AMANDA 💪🏽’, another wrote.

In a recent unearthed clip, Amanda was questioned about her feud with Phil and asked whether there were plans to reconcile.

‘I’ve moved on from it, Jamie, you need to move on from it,’ she told him.

‘I did offer to meet him for a coffee months ago, he didn’t reply to my text. What can I say?’

This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV.
