Phillip Schofield ‘not sure’ Holly Willoughby questioned him over affair with young lover-Ruth Lawes-Entertainment – Metro

Phillip Schofield has said he’s unsure whether Holly Willoughby asked him about his affair with his young lover.
The 61-year-old former presenter admitted to having an ‘unwise but not illegal’ relationship with a runner on This Morning, while he was married to Stephanie Lowe.
The former Dancing On Ice host quit ITV after the revelation with ‘immediate effect’, the week after he had departed from This Morning amid rumours of a fallout with Willoughby, 42.
It had been reported behind the scenes the duo were ‘barely speaking’ behind the scenes and their friendship has soured.
While the Wylde Moon founder did not comment on their relationship, she released a statement after Schofield confessed to the affair and said she was ‘hurt’ she had been ‘lied’ to.
She wrote: ‘It’s taken time to process yesterday’s news. When reports of this relationship first surfaced, I asked Phil directly if this was true and was told it was not.’

Schofield appeared on a BBC special on Friday morning where he was grilled by Amol Rajan about the relationship with the young man, who is now reportedly working in a pub and has left the TV industry.
Rajan asked Schofield if he had ever confided in Willoughby about the affair and replied: ‘No. God no.’
Schofield continued: ‘That’s a bigger question because our make-up room was like a sanctuary. Has always been a sanctuary and you tell everything in that room. Holly knows everything about me and I know everything about Holly. All the team. When the door is closed that’s the sanctuary. And it is a wonderful, wonderful environment and something I will miss deeply.

‘Holly – I don’t know if she ever asked me – she might have done. But I would have denied it. Holly did not know. Nobody knew.’
Willoughby, who is returning to presenting This Morning on Monday, June 5 after taking an early half-term break, has been seen for the first time since the scandal erupted.
In pictures obtained by The Sun, Willoughby was seen relaxing in Portugal with her family.
Keeping herself hidden, she wore a hat and sunglasses covering her face, paired with a warm, cream jumper.
