I spent £70 in the charity shop – people might think that’s mad but run to Oxfam, there’s tonnes of brand new Zara stuff

A SAVVY shopper is urging women to check out their local Oxfam charity shop after finding a tonne of brand new Zara pieces on the cheap.

Sophie shared a glimpse at just some of the summer tops and dresses she picked up, all priced at under £16.

She also loved this red midi skirt but admitted that the sizing was totally offTikTok/@sophdoeslife

That included a brand new Zara midi skirt for £7.99, saving her a whopping £18.

She said: “I have just had maybe the most successful charity shop haul, probably, of my life.

“I think Oxfam has just signed a contract with Zara where they get their old stock because most of this stuff was Zara stuff that was brand new with tags on still, which is pretty great.

“And I love a bargain so I ended up spending £70 on all of this stuff, which if I bought a new probably would cost me £70 for two things.”

Included in her bargain haul was the Seamless Corsetry-inspired Top, previously priced at £12.99 on the Zara website.

Sophie commented: “The first thing is this corset top, which is a little bit big and it does need an iron.”

Pointing to her chest, she added: “It’s a little bit gapey here, even with a push-up bra on because I’ve not really got much going on.

“But it’s just a Zara corset top. This was £5.99, like a little denim one. I thought it was pretty cute, I’m sure I can make it work.

“Next up I got another corset top. This was also £5.99.

“I’m not really sure about the whole bra situation with this one, but it’s just like a little crop top.

“I don’t really have anything like this in my wardrobe and I thought it was quite classy looking.”

The Zara fan also picked up the bright red Draped Midi Skirt for £7.99.

This is currently £25.99 on the Zara website, meaning Sophie saved £18 on this item alone.

She said: “This skirt is an extra small, and I’m not an extra small anymore, and it’s way too big.

“So I’m hoping that maybe my mom can take it in for me.

“It’s got a split. It’s got the ruffles. Very nice, and it was £7.99.”

The content creator also shared a couple of dresses she picked up, including a satin midi number.

She said: “I really liked this dress on the hanger. I thought it was stunning, I thought maybe it would be good for a summer wedding.

“However, I don’t think it’s particularly flattering on. Like, I don’t like how it sort of clings to my stomach a bit.

“It’s a stunning dress, though… and this was £14.99, so the most expensive thing that I bought, but again new with tags.”

However, the star of the show was a cut-out, baby blue midi dress. While no longer on the Zara website, the same dress is currently available on Depop for £28.

Sophie continued: “This one I am absolutely in love with.

“I love the color of this. The only thing is this one is a little bit too tight, but it does have a little bit of stretch in it.

“That’s the only thing. I don’t know if I can make this work by bunching it up, but absolutely gorgeous.

“This one was £13.”

She added: “If you haven’t been to your local Oxfam, go and have a look because they have some great stuff in there at the moment.”

Fans loved her bargain finds, with the haul gaining more than 5,200 likes and 76,600 views.

Known online as @sophdoeslife, the 26-year-old content creator regularly shares bargain fashion and beauty hauls with her 383,700 followers.

In the comments, TikTokkers shared their reactions, with one writing: “Soph the yellow dress is MADE FOR YOU.”

“Oxfam worker here, we get zara returns they usually have small stains or faults so they’re quite discounted but yeah the sizing is quite strange,” explained another.

A third added: “The light blue dress looks great Soph! Def doesn’t look too tight, I think it’s flattering!”

Someone else put: “We love a sustainable haul.”
