Bam Margera has been placed under a 5150 hold after being found by police in LA, it has been claimed.

The Jackass star, 43 recently sparked concern after he went missing – with his brother, Jess Margera, pleading with fans for any information on his whereabouts.

The CKY musician later tweeted that his sibling had been ‘found safe’ and was in touch over text.

According to reports, officers tracked his phone and found him at a Trejo’s Tacos restaurant in LA on Sunday.

Sources told TMZ that law enforcement officials were worried over his ‘erratic speech and behavior’, and called a psychiatric evaluation team to the scene.

It was reportedly determined that the pro skateboarder needed to be placed on a 5150 hold, and he has since been taken to a mental health facility.

He can be held there for 72 hours, but the outlet reports that it is unclear if he is still being treated.

Shortly before the news emerged, Jess asked his followers to help locate Bam, instructing them to contact the LAPD if they knew of his whereabouts.

‘If anyone in the LA area knows of bams current whereabouts or a hotel he might be at please call the LAPD immediately,’ he tweeted.

‘I am trying to get them to ping his phone but as usual it’s a whole huge process and I don’t think we have that kind of time. If you guys could all retweet this that would be really cool of you. Thanks for your help [sic].’

In a subsequent tweet, he assured fans that Bam had been found safe and thanked everyone who had shared his original post – but gave no further details of his condition.

‘They found him safe,’ he wrote. ‘He texted me and my parents at 6am this morning saying he loves us he loves Phoenix and he is “at peace” and that he took enough pills to stop his heart.

‘And some really heartbreaking dark s**t. Thanks to everyone who shared info today.’

TMZ reports that the stunt star’s attorney, Peter Thompson, previously said that he was attempting to reunite with his son, Phoenix, whom he shares with his estranged wife Nikki Boyd – before he went off the radar.

Bam alleged that his former partner wasn’t letting him see his child, with the lawyer telling the publication that this may have driven him to force a meeting in person.

According to the publication, Nikki ‘doesn’t want that right now,’ without Bam entering ‘some kind of rehab program,’ something his lawyer was unsure Bam was planning to do ‘anytime soon.’

Metro.co.uk has contacted LAPD and Bam’s reps for a comment.
