Summer has officially started! (Picture: ITV)

Love Island kicks off a long, hot summer tonight with more sun, sea and singletons – just three months after Kai Fagan and Sanam Harrinan won the winter series.

Producers are hoping that viewers will be glued to the betrayals, broken hearts, ‘icks’ and dumpings in the ITV2 summer reality show, after winter Love Island in South Africa saw ratings slump.

That said, everyone loved new host Maya Jama and her jaw-dropping outfits, who also returns for this latest series.

And the winter show did serve up some shockers, especially when loved-up Tanya Manhenga dumped Shaq Muhammad in a legendary Casa Amor twist.

Not to mention some sensational bombshells and feuds (Zara Lackenby-Brown and Olivia Hawkins, anyone?).

Now it’s back in the revamped Majorcan villa, with a brand new Hideaway and all-important fire pit, and the Love Island 2023 line-up includes a soap star’s daughter, a footballer’s son and the star of a Burna Boy music video.

So when and where can you watch all the drama?

Here’s what you need to know.

What time does Love Island start tonight?

Love Island starts at 9pm on ITV2 tonight (June 5) – and in a scheduling triumph, it’s straight after Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again.

The episode will run for an hour and 35 minutes, and is followed by Family Guy.

Let’s hope there’s a new buzzword as we’re so over ‘unreal’.

Series 10 will air as usual on weeknights, plus Sundays.

Fans will remember that Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and Davide Sanclimenti were crowned winners of summer 2022’s series 8.

The couple now live together and Ekin-Su appeared on Dancing on Ice.

What will happen tonight?

For the first time ever, boys and girls will enter the villa together in the opening episode.

Beautician Ruchee Gurung, 24, and aesthetics practictioner Jess Harding, 22, are first in, and they are soon joined by gas engineer Mitchel Taylor, 26, Scottish model Ella Thomas, 23, and 21-year-old businessman Andre Furtado.

Then Maya Jama enters and reveals that the public have already decided who should couple up.

So rather than choosing their own partner, the islanders will be coupled up without any say in it.

Then remaining five islanders enter one by one – and it appears Ella and semi-pro footballer Tyrique Hyde, 24, already know each other…

Everyone gathers around the fire pit where Maya announces the first pairing.

Maya says: ‘I think it’s fair to say on Love Island you should 100% expect the unexpected!’
